Jennifer Layton joined Compeer Financial in 2013, and it didn’t take long to discover that Compeer Home was exactly where she belonged. She started behind the scenes as a loan processor, later became Team Lead of Loan Processing, and eventually brought that experience directly to borrowers as a Loan Officer serving Adams, Juneau, Richland and Sauk counties in Wisconsin.
That background means Jennifer knows what it takes to get a loan from “Where do I even start?” to “When do I get the keys?” Her experience shows as she helps people turn “someday” into home, land, and everything in between.
Jennifer loves helping people find financing solutions that fit their lives, whether that means buying a home in the country, building from the ground up, purchasing a piece of recreational land, or tapping into the equity they’ve worked hard to build. She assists with home purchases and refinances, home equity loans, construction financing, land and site loans, and recreational land loans.
But for Jennifer, lending is about a lot more than numbers and paperwork: it’s about people. She enjoys getting to know her borrowers, understanding their goals, answering the questions they may be afraid to ask, and finding creative solutions along the way. Her goal is simple: make financing feel less overwhelming, provide a great experience, and build relationships that last well beyond closing day.
Jennifer’s rural roots run deep. She grew up on a cash crop farm raising corn, soybeans, tobacco, and wheat, where she learned early that hard work, resilience, and a willingness to pitch in go a long way. Today, she lives in Southern Sauk County, WI and loves helping the people and communities that make rural Wisconsin such a special place to call home.
When she isn’t working on loans, Jennifer is rarely sitting still. You might find her in a puzzle contest, hiking, biking, traveling, baking something delicious, helping on the farm, playing a competitive game of cribbage, or wandering in the woods or vendor show looking for her next great hunt.
